Lomitas Now Claims to Have 73 Special Ed Students!
That's right, on December 1, 1997, Lomitas now claims to have 73 students (note some of these may be "duplicate students") enrolled in special education. As the following photocopy of their California Distinguished School Award application attests, Lomitas now has SEVENTY-THREE students enrolled in special education (in the "Resource Specialist, Special Day Class, and Speech sections)! That figure is certainly VASTLY different than the one they submitted to the United States Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights less than a year after this "application" was submitted! So, just where (or should the question be WHY?) these DID these "extra" students come from?!?!
Please note the following information is a photocopy of Lomitas Elementary School's actual National Blue Ribbon Award Application and is available from the California Department of Education.
