Bob Chase comments on salary

March 12, 1998 - in an open letter from Senator Robert Kasten to teachers, we learn about Bobby Big Bucks Chase's EXTRAVAGANT lifestyle! Hey Bobby, do you care that there are many NEA members, all of whom pay your salary, are forced into bankruptcy, have nervous breakdowns, and suffering the long-term effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder just because they care about children while you are gallivanting around the globe enjoying the finer things in life?

Bob Chase letter to Jack Kemp April 9, 1998 - Bobby "Big Bucks" Chase, in a letter to Jack Kemp (April 14, 1998), you state that "I am an elected representative – whose salary, benefits, and activities are the subject of close scrutiny by those who elect me. My salary is a matter of public record, published in a budget voted on by 10,000 delegates to our annual Representative Assembly." In fact, in this response to a letter from the Alexis de Tocqueville Institution, you tried to justify your "total compensation" as $301,302' as including your "salary of $185,000 [with the] rest of the amount including expenses for travel, lodging, and everything else." Gosh, just how much was that "everything else?" If Bobby Big Bucks "salary, benefits, and activities are the subject of close scrutiny by those who elect [you]" then why did NEA allegedly harass Ronica Sarkisian-Carlisle for asking you about that exact thing?

Kemp letter to coward Bob Chase April 14, 1998- An invitation to Bobby "Big Bucks" Chase, from Senator Jack Kemp, to have a debate on the future of education in America. So, do you think was willing to debate Senator Kemp? Way to go Senator Kemp!

April 30, 1998 - Bobby Big Bucks Chase, in another response, this time from Gregory Fossedal, of the Alexis de Tocqueville Institution, we learn that "the amount reported in the LM-2 form you [Bob Chase] signed for the fiscal year ending August, 1997. This form is on file at the U.S. Department of Labor. The figure you list on that form under total compensation is: $301,302." Could that have anything to do with the fact that NEA finally settled "off the record" with Ronica Sarkisian-Carlisle, an NEA member who was apparently harassed for asking about Chase's salary?
December 9, 1999 - Bobby Big Bucks Chase, signs Form LM-2 (United States Department of Labor, "Labor Organization Annual Report,") which lists his total compensation at a WHOPPING $325,138! That's an INCREASE in your "TOTAL COMPENSATION" (isn't that a nice term) of $23,826 in JUST TWO YEARS!"
