Thank you for your site. I recently left teaching in the Memphis City Schools after the reverse racism, lack of administrative support and restrictive curriculum led me to a nervous breakdown. It took three months of intensive treatment before I was able to see that the problem wasn't me, it was the school. I'm now applying for jobs with rural schools, and am very picky in my questioning.
BTW-this is the district with the "Superintendent of the Year"-who is now resigning in April in part because of a scandal where a principal was sexually harassing his teachers-and was reassigned to teach high school P.E.! Parents objected, which blocked that move, and the superintendent, who previously was the golden girl in the eyes of the non-teaching community, suddenly felt a need to go elsewhere.
